The first anniversary of the deaths of lakewood Police officers Tina Griswold, Ron Owens, Mark Renninger, and Greg Richards is here So much has happened in the past twelve months since our officers died. For me, I have been changed forever. My respect for the men and women who wear the Badge continues to grow as I learn more about them, the jobs they do, the people they serve, the lives they protect, the fine human beings they are, and the truly dedicated community servants who put their lives on the line for our community, each and every day.

To all my new friends on the Blue Light Coalition I say THANK YOU for the opportunity I've had to get to know each of you this past year. I look forward to man more good times, events, and planning sessions, as we experience and see our dreams for the BLC come to fruition.

I am most grateful to all of our law enforcement community.

I thank the Lakewood Police officers who gave up their lives for us last November 29th, 2009. I thank their families who have suffered such great losses as I will never know. I wish I could ease every pain you've experienced, however I know that's not possible. So ... at this time ... I salute you ... and thank you for allowing us the opportunity to stand beside you and pray for you this past year.

I will express my thank yous ... remembrances ... prayers ... and gratefulness with tears and smiles ... for I have been ... forever changed!
